VISITS: We are currently closed to members of the public due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), more info here

Education is a fundamental part of saving lives at sea. That’s why we are delighted to be working with local groups and schools to help educate local children – the more people we can reach with our water safety messages, the more lives we can save now and in the future.

There two ways we can help, station visits or visits to your school or organisation, both of these can be tailored to your needs, please do get in touch.

We can accommodate all kind of visits to Cowes Lifeboat Station – whether group or individual, adults or children. We can also come and visit your organisation, whether a school, youth group or other! If you are interested in any of this, please contact our Visits Officer, Barry Myland, by emailing

We also have Open Days on every Bank Holiday Monday.

Our activities can include:

  • Get your kit on.
  • Knots.
  • Coastal safety.
  • Tour of the lifeboat and station.
  • Explanation of the crew kit.
  • Throwbags.
  • and many more!
