Harry joined the station in 2008 upon his (early!) retirement from HM Coastguard, where he was a Principal Inspector. He has a wealth of knowledge, having represented the UK at the International Maritime Organisation on various issues of Search and Rescue and Vessel Tracking and was a member of the IALA eNav committee. Prior to this he was Operations Manager for the area from Beachy Head to Exeter. He has also been a training consultant at the MCA Training Centre, where he studied for his CIPD Certificate in Teaching Practice. He was awarded the Chief Coastguards Commendation for the co-ordination of the rescue of 156 people during an incident. His interests include: working on his allotment, offshore sailing, cooking and launching lifeboats!
