Cowes Lifeboat Responds to ‘Ill Yachtsman’ Alert

18th August 2016

Concern over a lone yachtsman on a moored 51 foot ketch led to Cowes RNLI lifeboat being launched this afternoon.

Solent Coastguards received a report that a man aboard the yacht, moored alongside a midstream pontoon in the River Medina, appeared to be ill. But when a casualty care-trained lifeboat crew member went aboard he found the man did not require medical treatment after all.

The lifeboat, launched at 3.26 pm, returned to station at 4.20 pm.
